My name is Anna (she/her) and I’m a queer Filipina full spectrum birthworker. My practice is rooted in radical care and reproductive justice. I support birthing folks and families in birth, postpartum, abortion, miscarriage, and loss. I believe in providing gender affirming and trauma informed care for all folks in their reproductive journeys.
I’ve trained with DONA in Toronto and am a certified doula with Cornerstone Doula Trainings based in California. Over the past five years, prior to becoming a doula, I cared for families with infants, toddlers, and families with multiples as a childcare provider.
My goal is to become the warmest blanket you cuddle under on a cold day – I want to make sure you’re comfortable and safe. I approach all aspects of my work holistically, through an evidence-based lens, and with the softest intentions.
I take care in understanding there is anti-racism work to be done in the world of birth and beyond and am committed to practice anti-racism measures in my work and unlearn internal prejudices and harmful biases. I will be your biggest advocate and make sure your voice is heard every step of the way. I’m your person. You’re important to me. I can’t wait to meet you.

I am a compassionate and nurturing Certified Birth Doula CD (DONA) and Certified Postpartum Ayurvedic Doula that started off as a medical student in Europe for 8 years. After witnessing the lack of emotional and mental support with patients recovery and birthing families, I decided to leave medical school in search of a new purpose that was more spiritually aligned with alternative and holistic modality of healing.
My spiritual and emotional journey lead me to reconnect back with my Indian heritage and roots of yoga, Ayurveda, massage, herbalism and birth work. I also offer personalized women healing ceremonies such as: Closing of the Bones and Mother’s blessing ceremony.
Within birth work, I aim to support women and birthing families to make informed decisions without compromising their recovery. Since 2017 I have actively been a Doula and have helped over 60+ families in their birth and postpartum journey. I combine modern day medicine along with my ancient knowledge to bring the most balanced and conscious journey families will embark on
I am an empath who is here to love, care and support you free of judgement. I am here to facilitate a positive birth experience, guide you to make well informed decisions, share resources and hold space for your journey to parenthood. I would be grateful to embark on such a magical journey of beauty and transformation with you.

Ocama means “listen” in Taino-Arawak, a language of the Indigenous peoples from the islands known today as the Caribbean and South America (Abya Yala). Inspired by this indigenous word, Ocama Collective views birthwork as unique as each pregnancy, birth plan, and birth care. We “listen” not only with our ears, but with heart and spirit, to each individual and baby that enters our circle of care. The Collective is open to ALL IBPOC families seeking a nurturing space to “listen” together.
Janice bridges evidence-based medicine with time-tested traditional approaches to health care.
Janice’s goal is to help couples transition seamlessly into parents, or families transition into larger families. She applies a simple, yet thoughtful approach to her practice, combining elements of her education and experience into developing thorough, yet realistic treatment plans for all her patients. Eating nutritious food, practicing a healthy lifestyle and botanical (herbal) medicines are the foundations to her practice.
Janice loves working with all age groups, but in addition to her work with expecting families, she has a special interest in treating children and athletes.
Janice is a graduate of the University of Toronto (Bachelor of Physical and Health Education [Kinesiology]) and Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
When she is not helping families transition into larger families, Janice can be found outdoors enjoying the sunshine and trying to keep up with her three young children, or in the kitchen re-imagining leftovers into a Instagram-worthy dish.
Birth doula services at Toronto Centre for Naturopathic Medicine are covered by most extended healthcare plans.
If you are a Doula and would like to be featured on this page you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
