Symptoms and Testing

Worrying if you have CoVID-19?
Have you developed the common symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever (over 37.8C), new or worsening cough, and/or difficulty breathing? Do you have any of these other symptoms; sore throat, difficulty swallowing, new olfactory or taste disorders and upset stomach: with new or worsening nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain? Do you have any of these atypical symptoms such as red eyes, chills, headache, unexplained fatigue? Do have sneezing, a runny or a stuffed nose for no clear reason (such as seasonal allergies)?

You can read the Ministry of Health CoVID-19 Reference Document for Symptoms here. Don’t attend your clinic appointment but keep us updated by calling the clinic. In urgent situations, please page us.

COVID-19 Provincial Testing Guidance  has been updated with new information if you want to learn more about testing.

MGH’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre will continue to be open daily, from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., during the holidays. This includes on Christmas Day (Dec. 25), Boxing Day (Dec. 26) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). Individuals who meet the provincial testing guidelines may visit the Assessment Centre by scheduling an appointment online. Please reach out to your midwife and/or call the testing centre at Michael Garron Hospital at 416-469-6858 to see if you qualify for testing and book your appointment.

East Toronto Health Partners’ (ETHP) nine temporary OCVID-19 testing sites in East Toronto will not be open on Dec. 25, Dec 26 and Jan. 1. However, they will continue to offer drop-in testing according to their regular operating hours until the end of December. These sites are open to local residents of all ages who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who they think may have been infected (even without showing symptoms).
